Solal Prostate Protection Formula contains plant-based ingredients that support prostate health and relieve urinary symptoms. I3C, DIM and curcumin extracts support the detoxification pathways of the liver, beta-sitosterol improves urinary symptoms and lycopene and selenium have protective antioxidant effects.
Indole-3-carbinol (I3C) and di-indole-methane (DIM) are believed to support the metabolism of certain hormones to their weaker and more benign metabolites. There is evidence that curcumin has anti-inflammatory effects that may protect cells from damage caused by inflammation and it also supports liver detoxification. Some evidence suggests that beta-sitosterol may inhibit 5 alpha-reductase, slowing the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone thereby supporting urinary flow and frequency of urination. Higher levels of lycopene and selenium have been associated with improved prostate health. Piperine is believed to increase bioavailability of a number of substances through a various mechanisms.

Interactions
Cytochrome P450 1A2: Indole-3-carbinol induces the metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates and thus lower serum concentrations of medicines metabolised by this substrate. Medicines affected include clozapine, fluvoxamine, haloperidol, imipramine, olanzapine, pentazocine, propranolol, theophylline, zolmitriptan and others.
Warfarin and anticoagulants: Concomitant use of warfarin might increase the risk of bleeding due to decreased platelet aggregation and should be avoided or carefully monitored. Some of these medicines include aspirin, clopidogrel, dalteparin, enoxaparin, heparin, ticlopidine, warfarin, and others.
Ezetimibe: Ezetimibe inhibits intestinal absorption of beta-sitosterol and can reduce plasma concentrations of beta-sitosterol.
