d-Chiro-Inositol is a member of a family of vitamin B-like substances collectively known as inositol. However, unlike conventional inositol, d-Chiro-Inositol is an important secondary messenger in insulin signal transduction. This means it improves the body’s cellular response to insulin, making it useful for insulin resistant conditions such as metabolic syndrome and diabetes, in men and women. It is also useful for PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) in women. d-Chiro-Inositol may also promote weight loss and boost energy levels in patients resistant to weight loss, caused by insulin resistance.
How to Use:

Take 1 – 2 capsules twice daily with food.

Side Effects
d-Chiro-Inositol is generally well tolerated. Side effects can include nausea, tiredness, headaches and dizziness.
Interactions
d-Chiro-Inositol may enhance the effectiveness of diabetic medicines and this could result in hypoglycaemia. Therefore, use under medical supervision if you already take diabetic medication.
Lithium, carbamazepine and valproic acid reduce the inositol levels in the brain, the effect of d-Chiro-inositol supplementation on their efficiency is unknown, use this combination with caution.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Safety during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding has not yet been established.
